SUMMARY
OMNITRANS LAST BEST AND FINAL OFFER OF JUNE 10, 2011
REOFFER ON AUGUST 25, 2011
The Unions’ Negotiations Committee is made up of PBA, Jeff Caldwell, VP, Jerry Nunez, EB, Victor Walker, and Secretary, Sue Potts. Negotiations began on January 6, 2010 and at that time the PBA was Dale Moore and the Committee included EB Joann Barnes. There were 24 days of negotiations and 9 days of state monitored mediation.
You’re Negotiations Committee and the Local 1704 Executive Board has reviewed the offer and recommends members vote against the offer because there is little or nothing to your financial advantage and our members continue to be the brunt of the Omnitrans financial abuse. This offer continues the same long standing inequities and during trying times ATU is the only party sharing the pain and the burden.
On June 10, 2011 day of mediation Omnitrans issued what it calls its’ Last, Best and Final Offer to resolve negotiations for a successor MOU. On August 25, 2011 there reoffer is as follows in bold print.
The following is a summary of unsettled and settled terms items that are in dispute and that Omnitrans indicates that it is no longer interested in negotiating and has demanded that the Local take the Offer back to the membership for a ratification vote.

Mr. Dulaney you wrote an article about Omnitrans that appeared in the Sun Newspaper. This article pertain to a women claiming to have been removed from our bus for not having her pass ready. I'm curious to find out if you check out her facts to see if her story was actually true or did you just blindly print her story as truth. May I remind you Mr. Dulaney that as a responsible reporter you would have needed to dig deeper into her story. As a driver at omnitrans and also our Union's President I find it hard to believe a driver would just remove someone from a bus because they didn't have there pass ready. Our buses are equip with an announceator which every 5 second intervals while the doors are open announces the stop were at an reminds the passengers of having there fare ready. So believing this women has a monthly or daily pass she's aware of our policy to try and expedite our service and our on time performance by having there fare or pass ready as soon as they enter the bus. Also how does her being pregnant relative to this story only for you to embellished what really happen or make our driver's look bad to the public. Did you ask this person if she called in to Omnitrans and report this incident. If so that incident would have been recorded since all our buses are equip with video and audio equipment. Please believe me Mr. Dulaney if this truly happen there would be a record of it. We as drivers here at omnitrans try under some of the most stressful situations try and maintain a real professionalism with our customers its hard enough with the budget cuts, the tightness of the routes and the expectation of running on time or face discipline are just some of the adversity we face daily. So Mr. Dulaney you should do your DUE DILIGENCE before you print.
